Higher temps? Hotter looks! Summertime often means your clients will be seeking out new, fresh looks to rock out until the end of the season, and they’ll likely be inspired by celebrity styles. Recently, a few celebrities debuted their own drastically different looks for summer. Let’s take a look at a few of them.

Feeling a bit of déjà vu? We’ve been here before. Clarkson has gone back and forth between chocolate, caramel, red and also platinum blonde styles since she broke onto the music scene in 2003. But her latest blonde makeover is also the result of major lifestyle change, after Clarkson dropped 30 pounds and entered a new relationship, she says.
Mary Kate Olsen Bye bye, blondie. Though Olsen has experimented in the past with a short-lived red hue, she’s stuck with her signature blonde and ombre looks for much of her time in the spotlight. Perhaps it was her new courtship with the brother of former French leader Nicolas Sarkozy that inspired her new brunette locks?
Salon tip: Vadre’s Grigsby’s advice from earlier—“If she gets back together with a boyfriend who hates red hair and she wants her blonde hair back, what will we do then?”—is important to consider with color and lifestyle changes like these. Read more of her advice here.

Nick Jonas
Seems like buzzing off boyish long locks is a rite of passage for a guy in a boy band. One-third of the teen sensation The Jonas Brothers walked the red carpet with a newly buzzed coif recently, looking nearly unrecognizable. Jonas, like his brothers, previously sported some heighth and texture during his more active boy band days.
Salon tip:
A good trimming tool really does make a difference, even if your client is seeking a simple buzz cut. If your client is looking for something a bit trendier, “Your creativity is endless with the use of different clippers and different blades,” says David Guerin, global artistic director for Oster Professional Products.

If you’re thinking, “This style pictured is nothing new for Charlize,” you’re right. Shortly after the red carpets for Theron’s two major blockbusters (“Snow White and the Huntsmen” and “Prometheus”) ended, she was spotted out and about with, what looked like, her shoulder-length hair tucked neatly under a hat. But upon closer inspection—buzz cut! Though Theron reportedly shaved her head for a movie role in a reboot of the “Mad Max” franchise, we’re still considering it a new summer look for the star who never disappoints with flawless hairstyles.
