A year ago Jeff South, founder of Club Intrigue, met with the founders of Arizona Salon Professionals, Christian James and Bonnie Bonadeo to host a Club Intrigue Event in Scottsdale. The collaboration between the two stylist community organizations immediately worked, and the event was a huge success, introducing area stylists to a Club Intrigue-style event. “They’ve definitely got a community going” South says.
Ong demonstrated fantastic haircutting skills with the audience while Freudenberg taught beautiful holiday hair secrets. Arrojo shared his trademark razor skills and inspirational stories and philosophies. “It’s always fantastic to be part of such a great community” Arrojo says. Hair colorist Manda Johnson along with other local colorists Makenzie and Heather of Epic Salon provided hair color expertise for Nick’s models before the event at Brush Salon in Scottsdale.
After the educational presentations, an after party continued with cosmopolitans and a DJ to carry it through the night supporting Red Thursday Foundation, a charity by Arizona’s own Elana K. Wight. The Red Thursday Foundation’s mission is to “encourage, inspire and share hope with cancer patients and their care givers. Red Thursday is for all, because everyone knows someone with cancer.”
“This event concludes the last Club Intrigue event of the 2016 year. It wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our national sponsors, Goldwell, Keune, Redken, Wella, and Modern Salon Media,” South says. “Thank you to our local sponsors in Arizona for this event: L’unica, Salon Services and Supplies, Professional Beauty Assoc., Arizona Salon Professionals and BEaUty Inside and Out.”
