Cosmetologists Chicago, producers and owners of America’s Beauty Show, recently received its third American Graphic Design Award in four years. The award, presented by Graphic Design USA magazine, recognized Cosmetologists Chicago for its 2012 trade press print advertising on behalf of America’s Beauty show.
The two-page spread, a collaboration between Cosmetologists Chicago Creative Director Kristen Erickson, Luis Alvarez of Aquage, who also photographed the ad, and hairstylist Ann Bray, was shot atop Chicago’s famed Willis Tower.

“Working with Luis Alvarez and Ann Bray and the Aquage artistic team for the past five years has been so creatively inspiring,” said Erickson. “I am especially proud to be part of our America’s Beauty Show team, bringing worldwide beauty to Chicago.”
Cosmetologists Chicago CEO Paul Dykstra said, “The 2012 America’s Beauty Show was a huge success due to the commitment of those involved with it at every level. Kristen and Luis’ artistic vision for our show is worthy of all the praise it is receiving.”
Earlier this year, Graphic Design USA awarded the 2012 ABS print ad with the American In-House Design Award, the fifth consecutive win for Cosmetologists Chicago and America’s Beauty Show advertising in this category.
