CosmoProf Beauty's Fashion Frenzy Student Competition was one of the highlights of the Intercoiffure Atelier held October 19 -20, 2014, in NYC. The six finalists of this inspiring student competition where flown to New York to compete at the famed Waldorf Astoria hotel, transforming pre-selected models in just 5 hours with help of emcee and mentor Luis Alvarez (Aquage Creative Director) and mentors Rocky Vitelli (Farouk Systems Global Artist) and Fabio Sementilli (Wella Vice President of Education). The models were then examined and judged live by an elite panel of industry professionals including Mary Brunetti, Sherri Jessee, Perry Monge, Sonya Dove and MODERN's Beauty and Fashion Director Maggie Mulhern.
Announced on stage in front of the esteemed members of Intercoiffure was Jessica DeAngelo, a graduate of Casal Aveda Institute Managing Cosmetology Program, Austintown, OH. Second place went to Danielle Harris, a graduate of Miller Motte Cosmetology school in Clarksville,TN.; October 2014 and third place went to Monica Turingia, a graduate of Gina’s College of Hair Design, Waterloo, ON., and now an apprentice at Stylers, Guelph, Ontario. Rounding out the 6 finalists: April Nagle, a graduate Casal Aveda Institute, Austintown, OH; Safily Aboaen, a graduate of eZone academy, St. Catharines, ON, and now an apprentice at Renaissance Salon & Estetica; and Jennifer Lawrence, a student at Regency Beauty Institute of Merrillville, IN. The finalists were selected from photos of work created on mannequin heads and many of the winning photos were taken with cell phones.

A top prize for the winner was a photoshoot with famed hair photographer Babak, which will appear in the CosmoProf Beauty Monthly Shopping Guide. Other prizes for all of the finalists include sponsorship gifts from Wella, Farouk and Aquage; the trip to NYC and stay at the Waldorf Astoria for the ICA Fall Atelier and Fashion Frenzy 2014 competition.
