Presenting at NYFW, the Kalani Hilliker debut saw dance meet designer. Top influencers, “Dance Moms” cast members and the press gathered to see the new collection. The Kalani Hilliker collection, created by dancer Kalani Hilliker, star of the hit Lifetime series “Dance Moms,” includes beautiful collection of ready-to-wear and special occasion pieces including Ready to wear, The Ballet Collection (cocktail/party dresses) and The Starry Night Collection (prom/evening gowns). This new line’s mix-and-match collection of tops, skirts, pants, dresses and hair accessories are designed to help girls look and feel beautiful for any occasion, day or night. Each of the 18 styles of Kalani Hilliker will be available for under $100 on SimplyDresses.com and PromGirl.com
“Kalani embodies today’s modern young woman, who is talented, kind-natured, full of personality, and has killer style,” says Sara Pirok, Kalani Hilliker’s fashion partner and CEO of SJP Brands. “We were immediately inspired by her, and her love of fashion, design, and style ensured it was a seamless fit.” From a sleek bomber and relaxed tees for day to metallic pleated skirts and dresses in flirty silhouettes for evening, the collection features on-trend yet timeless pieces in seasonal shades that complement an existing wardrobe. Blush pink, cranberry, and stripes accent the essential styles that come in black swan and cloud white. The unique fabrics feel luxurious while remaining wrinkle-resistant, machine washable, and travel-friendly. “It was important for me to create a fashion-forward collection that girls feel confident, comfortable, and empowered wearing,” says designer Kalani Hilliker. “When girls feel strong, smart, and bold, we can accomplish anything we put our minds to.”
Co-sponsoring the event and runway show is “THE LOOK: ALL STARS, a new professional beauty competition TV series debuting in 2018. Kalani’s designs will be featured on the show, which embraces and supports new, exciting designers and looks. This new national TV show, featuring celebrity colorist Kim Vo as Mentor, is expected to be one of the biggest beauty & fashion competition reality shows and will feature the top beauty and style experts across the country.
“The goal of the show is to help people celebrate their personal brand,” says show mentor Kim Vo. “It’s a fun show and we showcase amazing talented people, but it’s so much more because it gives viewers real-life tips and expert advice that they can incorporate for themselves. In the current Selfie-ready life, everyone wants to look their best at all times!” THE LOOK: ALL STARS is an innovative episodic one-hour beauty and style competition where teams of top beauty professionals compete in branded challenges to see who can create the winning LOOK. Each stand-alone episode plays like a finale of shows like Americas Next Top Model, Project Runway, or Shear Genius where teams of All Stars compete for a final prize. There are three teams, two rounds, and one winner! Each standalone episode will start with three teams of beauty and style experts, led by a hairstylist. The hair stylist will be the main contestant, leading their team to create THE LOOK for their model. After the first challenge, two teams will advance to the finale to face off in the final challenge. Teams will demonstrate extraordinary transformation skills while they reveal the best kept beauty & style secrets of the pros - for the first time, in front of the world. People are saying it's “Chopped” meets “Project Runway”.
