The perfect paradox: One of the salon industry’s signature services, the blowout, is also one of the most strenuous. At MODERN, we often hear stylists joke that they get their best workout in the salon due to the amount of time, effort and strength it takes to give clients that fresh-out-of-the salon finish.
The days of arm-straining blowouts are gone, thanks to Hot Tools’ new One-Step Blowout. The tool features a black gold styling surface that combines Nano Titanium ceramic with Refresh3 Max Activated Charcoal, which allows hair to glide smoothly and distribute heat evenly. The brand’s signature Micro-Shine finish is corrosion-resistant to minimize friction and help reduce damage to hair.
Artists Kim Bruce, Amy Baugh and Ricardo Santiago have been using the tool in their salon and have noticed the difference it’s given their services.
“The One-Step Blowout has changed the game,” Bruce says. “The oval brush design has gently curved sides for smoothing hair while round edges create volume at the roots and beautifully curled-under ends. This tool is a must.”
For clients with natural texture, Baugh says the One-Step Blowout is her go-to. With a threespeed setting and unique vent pattern, the brush increases efficiency.
“This tool smooths and reduces my drying time,” she says. “If anything helps to save me time, I’m here for it.”
For Santiago, the One-Step Blowout has been a lifesaver with his extension clients.
“If you are an extensions specialist, you need this,” he says. “It’s great for prepping extensions for a new install; it’ll save you so much time after pretreating or custom-coloring/toning, and it keeps the hair nice and smooth."
