THE EVENT: Oribe Hair Care brings together local talent to participate in a stage-side, pop-up performance salon.
THE DETAILS: Royal-by-association Katrina Darling, Kate Middleton’s cousin, brought her burlesque show to the states at NYC’s W.i.P. venue. Local hair stylists, who don’t typically get the chance to collaborate, got in on the act, styling audience members and performers with Oribe Hair Care products. With a theme of “God Save the Queen,” Brit Rock styles were created with a Rockabilly/pin-up vibe. “The audience seemed to respond well to the surprise factor of discovering a ‘Pop Up Salon’ around the corner from the stage—an unexpected twist to the usual club experience,” said participating stylist Paul Cucinello of Chris Chase Salon. “If they had known in advance, I bet some of them might have gotten there a bit earlier and not even bothered to style their hair!”
