Favorite beverages: Red wine. “A great meal is finished off with a great wine for balance. My favorites are Stags Leap and Opus One.”

Guilty pleasures: Expensive food. “I love to eat at great restaurants that are a luxury for people. In New York City, there’s always a new restaurant, so you always get to taste and try.”

Great getaways: Harbour Island in the Bahamas. “It’s low-key. . . read, swim and exercise.”

Go-to professional products: L’Oréal and Kérastase, “the most complete, incredible line of styling products for achieving healthy hair.”

Latest, greatest restaurants: Nobu, still. “I love the blackened cod and the rock shrimp. The scallops are amazing, too.”

Good shoes: Timberland boots. “I spend all week in the salon and I have to wear a certain look. On the weekend I can put on my jeans and Timberlands. They remind me of being in the country.”

Favorite color: Blue. “It’s an energizing color and reminds me of the sky and the ocean. And I have blue eyes, and blue looks good on me!”

Music: Upbeat. “Everything from the ’70s to the Arctic Monkeys. Archie Bunker, one of my favorite new bands, reminds me of where I grew up in Manchester.”

In Dubai, a salon visit isn’t an appointment. It’s a weekly routine, and clients can spend $800 to $1,400 a month on it, according to Gaurav Tripathi of MADI International. On October 6-8, 2026, the market behind those numbers opens its doors as Beautyworld Dubai marks its 30th edition at the Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together distributors, brands, stylists and salon owners from all over the world.
