Facing down intimidating tasks and mastering time and project-management are the themes behind a planned Guest Speaker Evening at The International Dermal Institute (IDI) in Scottsdale, AZ, June 10, 6 – 8 p.m., featuring the dynamic Annet King, Director of Global Education for IDI, who is centered at the school’s world headquarters in Carson, CA. The title of Ms. King’s popular presentation: “Eat the Frog!”

Inspired by motivational guru Brian Tracy’s 2001 runaway bestselling book, Ms. King’s presentation offers skin therapists key lessons on productivity tailored to entrepreneurs and small business owners. The amphibious title refers to the practice of identifying and tackling the day’s least appetizing task first thing every morning, since procrastinating often makes the most daunting “To Do” item seem to grow in size and repulsion.

Some of the “frogs” addressed by Ms. King’s presentation include developing a marketing plan, hiring, firing, managing finances and having uncomfortable but necessary conversations.
“Remember,” Ms. King cautions her audience, “every huge, slimy, puffed-up, bulging-eyed, croaking bullfrog starts off as a teeny, tiny wiggly tadpole no bigger than an M+M. But that fella gets harder and harder to swallow every hour that you put it off.”
Getting more done in less time is only one aspect of the self-disciplined frog-eating regimen recommended by Ms. King. She reveals that doing the “worst, first” each day empowers us to liberate ourselves from self-imposed limitations and remove obstacles from our path to success.
Ms. King’s “Eat the Frog!” Guest Speaker Evening will be open to all licensed professionals in the skincare and hair care industries, and will be held at the unique hybrid educational facility which IDI shares with Dermalogica, located at 4223 N. Marshall Way, Scottsdale, AZ 85251. For more information, visit www.dermalinstitute.com or call 1-888-29-CLASS (25277).
