The competition showcases the best work of salon professionals individually or as a team and awards cash prizes and trophies for display. Submissions are judged by a panel of industry leaders on technical merit, execution and suitability of styles to each category (see below), and concept and overall approach.

Makeover Expert
Makeover Rising Star (for a student or professional who has been in the industry five years or fewer)
ColorAmerica Colorist of the Year
Hair Fashion Visionary - Avant Garde
Texture Champion
Men's Look Champion
The Leo Passage Gold Trophy
The Leo Passage Gold Trophy honoring the late founder of Pivot Point International will be awarded to the top-ranked professional with entries in two or more STARS categories. Scores from each entry will be combined to determine the Leo Passage Gold Trophy winner, who will receive $1,500 and a complimentary hotel night stay in Chicago during America's Beauty Show, March 21-23, 2015 at McCormick Place in downtown Chicago.
One winner from each of the above categories will receive $750 and a trophy as well as their images featured on americasbeautyshow.com.
