Sunday's annual MTV Movie Awards brought out the stars in film and music for a fun, relaxed night of red carpet photo-ops and presentations. It might have been too relaxed-a few stars looked like they rolled out of bed and did their hair themselves. Not the best strategy: Even though the MTV awards are more low-key than, say, the Oscars, we all know that a little professional polish, care of beauty experts, finishes off even the most casual look the right way.

The hip young crowd did include a few repeat style stars, such as Emma Stone who was showing off a soft red hair color (we prefer it over her natural blonde, do you agree?). We also loved the fun Nicki Minaj was having with her blunt bob and playful makeup and nails. Where else but the MTV Awards can you experiment with your red carpet look?
