When and why did The Hair Shop get involved in hair extensions? In 1988, Founder and CEO Ryan Tokko recognized a demand for quality hair extensions and wanted to provide hairdressers with a solution. We have since evolved to become the central place where professionals can access a wide selection of all things hair. Whether it’s to restore, enhance or completely transform a client’s hair, we have something for everyone.

We welcome you to explore one of our retail stores. See, touch and feel the hair firsthand and take home the products you need. THS’ one-stop shop provides full consultations and a completely customized experience because hair extensions are not a one-size- fits-all product. We are expanding retail locations around the globe so that this service is available to all hair professionals.
What is The Hair Shop’s research and product development background?
Every client has unique needs that deserve attention, and THS has adopted this mantra in the R&D process for more than 25 years. With complete manufacturing control, we are able to innovate, create and test new products implementing valuable feedback from hairdressers, beauty professionals, industry experts and extension users.
What education does The Hair Shop provide?
Our goal is to make sure every haircare professional has the comprehensive knowledge to be an expert in the hair-extension field. Our academy courses are targeted for those that share the same passion for quality work and constant improvement, so we structure our courses specific to your level of expertise. Each course offers hands-on experience to master the art of hair extensions. These include our Extension Master Class, Micro Master Class, remote classes and more.

How do you inspire salon professionals?
We strive to show extensions are not cumbersome and, in fact, very approachable. We provide tools and methods in order to make the process easier and faster. THS hair extensions and pieces are not pre-styled; they provide the blank canvas for the artist to create their masterpiece.

Products: The Hair Shop offers seven application methods in five hair textures, available in more than 65 colors. Along with more common and popular application methods like Keratip, I-Tip, Skinweft tape-ins and clip-ins, the brand has developed specialized extension techniques to address some of the most problematic areas for men and women with MicroTip Hair Extensions, which are 70-percent smaller than an I-Tip piece (comparable to a lead pencil’s .7mm lead tip). MicroTip Hair Extensions are applied with silicone-lined copper beads, are applicable with the Plastic Tubes technique for a transparent, lightweight bond, and feel similar to a hair-transplant system.
Best sellers: Keratip individual extensions provide exact color mixing and matching, quantity and volume control and natural hair movement. Clip-ins are fast and easy to apply with slim, sleek bases, making them undetectable and more comfortable than other clip-ins. They provide full, voluminous hair and come in all lengths and styles.
