MODERN's going "green" for April 2010 - and what better way to start off my "green" coverage than with a product prequel…
Throughout the month of March and April, on top of writing about the newest/trendiest beauty products, I will also be focusing on the "greener" side. So it will be a mix and match.

Head Organics Set
For this week's "green" product review I decided to try out Head Organics! This product is free of harsh detergents and polluting chemicals. Through research and development, access to global ingredients and "green chemistry," this 100% vegan and gluten-free hair care line offers performance in both grooming and personal responsibility to the environment. Each product is blended with naturally derived, certified organic active ingredients, botanical extracts, essential fatty acids, glycerin, vegetable oils, natural proteins and coconut.
I tried out each of these products:

Extra Hold Mousse - It's comprised of a gentle and non-irritating
formula. It gave my hair a bit of a lift using natural ingredients. In
the bottle the liquid resembles water; once you pump some
into your hand it turns into foam! Head Organics Extra Hold Mousse

2 – in – one Shampoo & Conditioner - This product is safe on
chemically treated hair/and all hair types. It contains pomegranate,
ginger, aloe vera extracts - and it smells really good! Like coconut!
The shampoo/conditioner has a syrupy consistency so when I was washing
my hair I could instantly feel my hair being moisturized and cleaned
simultaneously. The shampoo/conditioner in one bottle makes it a
convenient product. Head Organics 2-in-one Shampoo & Conditioner

Hair Serum – Great for frizzy hair and fly-aways! I used about
two to three pumps of this product on my long hair (it's past my
shoulders) and I loved it. It made my hair look a lot shiner and
healthier. It is an ultra-light formula so it didn't weigh down my hair
- it left it soft and sleek. This is a valuable product because
you can use it anytime of the day on dry hair. Head Organics Hair Serum

Leave-in Conditioning Spray – Wow; another product that did
wonders for my hair! Adding this product to my hair after using the hair
serum made it feel really soft. You can see results whether you apply
this product to wet or dry hair. I misted about four sprays and found
that it calms static, fly-aways and it won't leave your hair all greasy
(unless you spray a large amount of this product in your hair). I recommend keeping it to three or four sprays depending upon hair length.
Head Organics Leave-in Conditioning Spray

Extra Hold Hair Gel - I put a quarter amount of this product in
my hair, and let it air dry. Afterwards my hair had soft waves and it
wasn't stiff (this result is based upon straight hair). This product also helps
protect hair from heat damage. So even if gel isn't your thing, you may
want to try it out just for that reason. Head OrganicsExtra Hold Hair Gel

Natural Styling Wax – This wax is for anyone who wants a defined,
spiky look. It's ideal for short hair types and hair with layers. Just
apply a small amount with your fingertips or palms and work into dry or
damp hair - and remember, a little bit goes a long way. It adds texture
and control to any style. Head Organics Natural Styling Wax
That's it for now, tune in next time for more product reviews...
