"Hairstylists and barbers are in high demand along with cosmetologists and the overall employment for these professions is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through 2032 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This makes a strong pipeline of talent crucial to the salon industry,” said Jared Nypen, vice president of talent for Great Clips, Inc. “For over 20 years Great Clips Inc. and its leaders have made a significant commitment to awarding scholarships that support the industry’s need for talent and make cosmetology career dreams a reality. We look forward to this year’s submissions and making a difference in the lives of many students.”
The Great Scholarship Program is open to high school and post-high school individuals who are enrolled in a cosmetology or barbering program in the U.S. or Canada. Applications will be accepted year-round and awarded twice a year in the spring and fall. Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2024, to be considered for the spring award and September 1, 2024, for the fall award.
