On April 12, 2015, salons throughout the United States participated in the 6th annualHairRaising cut-a-thon and raised a quarter of a million dollars to help fund the world’s premier cardiac center at Boston Children’s Hospital.
HairRaising was created in 2010 by longtime business partners Gail Federici and John Frieda.
In addition to having the support of more than 125 salons, HairRaising was backed by a number of corporate sponsors, including John Frieda Hair Care (Kao), Tangle Teezer, Paramount, Zotos, Acura of New England and Color Wow, Federici and Frieda’s latest hair care endeavor. The event also received media sponsorship from Heart Publishing, Modern Salon, Boston Magazine and iHeartMedia.
“Not only is Boston Children’s the top ranked pediatric hospital, but it’s also ranked first in eight out of ten specialties, including cardiology,” Federici says. “They are leading the charge in life-saving cardiac interventions and this new heart center will allow them to treat even more patients and further the research that will save countless lives both young and old.”
