The fourth edition of the make-up artist design show, trade fair for make-up artists, was again well received by the trade audience and established itself as a creative meeting point for stage and beauty make-up artists from theaters, operas and TV studios as well as musical and film productions A total of 3,300 trade visitors came to Düsseldorf, Germany to be inspired by the unparalleled combination of information, continuing education and artistic imagination. The 75 exhibitors and brands presented the latest equipment for professional make-up, including special effects, wigs and hairpieces as well as tools and supplies and accessories for the creation of masks.
A remarkably high share of both presenters on stage and attendees came from countries other than Germany. “At our trade show here in Düsseldorf the best of the best in the industry make an appearance and are more than happy to let others peek over their shoulders. Nowhere else can you find such a top-class internationally staffed trade program. This exclusive atmosphere and the strong exchange of ideas between industry pros is exactly what makes the make-up artist show so special,” explained Helmut Winkler, Director of the make-up artist design show.
Wolfram Langer, Managing Director of KRYOLAN and co-initiator of the make-up artist design show, was also pleased: “This fantastic atmosphere and the incredibly high caliber of program contributions are simply unique. We have put together a top-quality, top-class package that was extremely well received by our visitors. The trade fair has also established itself firmly on an international level and has become well-known as a meeting point for the top stars of the international scene. But we also think about up-and-coming talents and continuing professional education. The wonderful works presented by junior make-up artists demonstrate the high level the trade has reached here in Germany.”
At the lecture forum, renowned make-up artists and stars such as Oscar winner Michael Westmore from Los Angeles presented their work and showed new techniques to a large audience. In addition, three daily sessions at the Creativity Workshop allowed trade visitors hands-on experience with techniques and materials under the guidance of industry experts. Another highlight was the German Championship for Student Make-up Artists where the most talented trainees showed off their skills.
Bernd Uwe Staatz, Chief Make-up Artist at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein (Düsseldorf) and winner of the Golden Mask National award, was pleased about the increase in practical presentations and the large crowds at the trade program: “The lecture forum was incredibly well received. The number of visitors and the interest in colleagues’ new ideas, techniques and tricks was even stronger than before. I am delighted about this effortless exchange of ideas among make-up artists - something that is not possible in this way at any other trade fair.”
The next make-up artist design show will take place on March 22 and 23, 2014 in Düsseldorf, Germany - parallel with BEAUTY INTERNATIONAL DÜSSELDORF (March 21 - 23) and TOP HAIR INTERNATIONAL Trend & Fashion Days (March 22 - 24).
