The International Nail Technicians® (INTA), headquartered in Chicago announces the appointment of Douglas Schoon to serve as Chief Scientific Advisor for the 800-member association of nail technicians worldwide.

In this capacity, Schoon, a highly respected chemist along with active credentials in nail industry legislative and regulatory issues, will work with INTA on issues affecting products, services and techniques in beauty or nail salons and spas.
Doug Schoon, founder of Schoon Scientific + Regulatory Consulting, LLC, is an internationally known scientist, educator and author with over thirty years experience in the beauty and personal care industry. He is a leading industry authority, known for his work as Co-Chair of Nail Manufacturers Council (NMC) and the R&D Scientist that led Creative Nail Design's (CND) extremely successful and highly innovative Research and Development laboratory for almost 20 years. He also headed CND's Quality Assurance and Field Testing/Evaluation departments.
Schoon has worked on scientific, technical and regulatory issues that have shaped the beauty industry. A strong advocate for salon safety, he represents the beauty industry on scientific matters in the US, Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
Schoon has authored several books, video and audio training programs, as well as dozens of magazine articles about salon products and safety, cleaning/disinfection and best practices for salon professionals. Schoon is well known to beauty professionals around the world for his captivating presentation style and his unique ability to make complex chemical theories and concepts seem simple and easy to understand.
