John Paul DeJoria and Mark Cuban will inspire entrepreneurs at PBA Business Forum during PBA Beauty Week 2015.
John Paul DeJoria, billionaire businessman and philanthropist best known as a co-founder of thePaul Mitchellline of hair products and The Patrón Spirits Company, will join fellow entrepreneur Mark Cuban at this year’s PBA Business Forum as part of PBA Beauty Week. The 13th edition of Cosmoprof North America (CPNA), hosts of PBA Beauty Week, will take place on July 12-14, 2015 at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. Cuban’s participation was officially announced by CPNA and PBA in February of 2015.
CPNA and PBA have not yet released details about what attendees can expect from DeJoria and Cuban but said that the two renowned business leaders will be paired together to debut a new program.
“Although we can’t share additional details at this time, we can guarantee that what we have planned is going to provide the beauty industry an opportunity and platform that is truly unmatched,” said Scott Buchanan, chairman of PBA. “John Paul and Mark’s combined achievements will bring an elevated level of expertise to our event.”
DeJoria’s rags-to-riches story exemplifies the American dream, which makes him a fitting addition to the entrepreneurial-driven Cosmoprof culture. In 1980, DeJoria and hairstylist Paul Mitchell converted a partially borrowed $700 into what is today the largest privately held salon hair care line, producing more than 100 products with a presence in over 100 countries. Close to a decade later, DeJoria co-founded Patrón, the first and now #1 ultra-premium tequila in the world.
“The path to success in an industry that is saturated with competition is one that I am fortunate enough to have traveled,” said DeJoria. “I hope to share my experience with aspiring entrepreneurs to ensure success and longevity in our ever-changing world of beauty.”
CPNA is a leading business-to-business trade show for all sectors of the beauty business and the recipient of numerous industry accolades, including the “Most Innovative Trade Show” Award in 2013. PBA Beauty Week is hosted annually by CPNA and serves as North America’s most inclusive beauty event, offering education, inspiration, networking, and access to key stakeholders from all sectors of the beauty industry. More than 946 exhibitors from 40 countries are expected to participate in CPNA this year with an attendee count that is likely to reach 30,000.
“This year’s show is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever before with the debut of so many unique programs,” said Daniela Ciocan, Marketing Director, CPNA. “We are excited to have John Paul and Mark team up for what will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for our attendees.”
