Style Trip is a new webisode series that takes you inside real salons and communities across the country to explore the craft of hairdressing. From scenic Oahu to the relaxing shores of Northern California, Style Trip travels around to capture masterful stylists in action; showcases how hairdressers draw inspiration from their community; and how these surroundings fuel their creativity.
“There is no better way to connect to a community than to explore it with the people that make it beautiful,” says Style Trip host and John Paul Mitchell Systems Artistic Director of Professional Hair Color, Colin Caruso. Featured guest Artistic Director Heather Ka’anoi also appears in the series, which was produced and shot on location by content creation studio STVDIUM.
The premiere Style Trip takes place in Hawaii and premiered on the Paul Mitchell YouTube Channel on January 28, 2019. This first episode highlights the origins of John Paul Mitchell Systems and the life of Co-founder Paul Mitchell through recounts by the legendary stylist’s son, Angus Mitchell.
The next two episodes—featuring the California coastal towns of Santa Cruz and Carlsbad—will make their debut in Spring 2019, with future episodes in the works.
