Matrix has announced Kara Williams and Sharon Spellman as the new brand ambassadors who will bring their areas of expertise and rich color backgrounds to the Matrix family.
Kara Williams is a New Jersey native taking the art of hair coloring by storm with her sought after techniques for textured and multicultural hair. Her love of fashion, beauty and creativity has always been a passion, so this naturally transcended her artistry as a hairstylist. Williams is a Redken certified master designer and colorist. Formally a hair color educator and artistic team member for one of the largest beauty retailers, Ulta Beauty, she has worked on national ad campaigns and numerous seasons of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Kara has been nominated three times for the Behind The Chair One Shot Awards and took home the curl shot Award in 2019. She has mastered all textures, as well as men's and women's hairstyling. Thus far, her biggest moment of success is independently building a salon and continuing to grow her social media presence.
Sharon has been working with clients in the chair for five years, working diligently to master the art of lightening and color formulation. Sharon attended the Simi Valley Adult School of Cosmetology, where she studied the basics and created a strong foundation to expand her business after getting her license. After putting in the work as a scholar, she was ready to start her journey as a licensed cosmetologist. Sharon realized that her generation is considered the age of social media, therefore, this was the main tool she used to scale and promote her brand and salon: Simply Insane.
Documenting her progression and techniques through social media has allowed Sharon’s work to be shown worldwide and granted her the opportunity to connect with many of her followers. Instagram (110K followers) and TikTok (574.9K followers) have been essential to promoting her work and creating a connection within the hair community. Utilizing the tools of social media has created a direct path for Sharon to educate and service the many beautiful people that follow her journey as a hairstylist.
