The results are in!

MODERN SALON has selected the Grand Prize Winner, Finalists and Honorable Mentions who participated in our first-ever North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) Predict, Tag Win Contest! The contest called for participants to cast their vote and predict who would each NAHA category.

These "talent spotters" were able to spot the NAHA winners from a mile away. Congrats to the winners who definitely have an eye for beauty! Stay tuned as these beauty professionals will share their predictions on the next generation of talent in an upcoming Ones to Watch feature in MODERN SALON!

GRAND PRIZE WINNER: Teressa Masterson

MEET TERESSA: “I have been a hairdresser for 13 years and work at a salon out of Evansville, Indiana, called Kidz Hair Club and Family. I specialize in advanced hair cutting, coloring and patience! It’s one thing to have someone sitting in your chair getting a great cut, but it’s another to do the same great cut on a constantly moving target.

HOW SHE FELT TO WIN! “It felt awesome to win! When I first got the email that said I had won, I thought it was a hoax! So to my surprise when I found out I really did win, I was on cloud nine.

ON NAHA: “Ever since I was younger and in beauty school, I dreamed about being a contestant in NAHA. I love seeing all of the outstanding looks and ideas other stylists have. I must say I couldn't have picked a better profession!”

MEET RON WOLFE: “I've been teaching cosmetology as an Instructor at Rowan Cabarrus Community College in Kannapolis, North Carolina for two years and I love my job and really enjoy helping new talent to flourish. I'd love to see one of my students accepting an award at NAHA sometime in the future. I've never had an opportunity to attend NAHA and now I can! What an amazing opportunity! I'm looking forward to watching the show and seeing all of the talent! I streamed the live show to my Blu-Ray player from the modernsalon.com website and really enjoyed it!”

MEET ALLISON DYKSTRA: “I have only been in beauty for a little over two years, but have been in the service industry since I was 16; about 11 years now. I am a Senior Service Coordinator for the Guest Services team at Bijin salon and spa in Prairie Village, Kansas. My passion is for people. I have always loved the idea of making people feel and look as good as possible inside and out. Now I have the opportunity to do so and take full advantage every day. I have never been to NAHA, but a few of our stylists have entered in previous years. Many have also attended shows in the years past. Our Guest Services team had a contest to see who could predict the most winners out of all categories, and I won that contest as well. I cannot wait to attend NAHA 2015!”

MEET PAM GARCIA: "I have never been to NAHA before but, have always had the desire to go. I have been watching online for as long as it's been available. YES, I have dreamt for years of entering NAHA, now I need to make it happen. I have been in the industry for 30 years and own Self Salon with my husband in Florida. I specialize in curly hair as a Ouidad Certified Curl Expert, but I love working with all hair textures. When my clients leave the salon I want them to feel relaxed, rejuvenated, confident and educated!"
