Nicholas French, Matrix Artistic Director and SoCap USA Creative Director, has been very successful in the world of hair photo competition. A King of NAHA (10 time finalist, 3 time winner of Avant Garde), he is also the recipient of several awards in his native England.
"We must be recognized as artists," he told me recently at an interview in the courtyard of the Dream Hotel in NYC. "We must be recognized as FINE artists. What we do is an artform."
In this interview, Nicholas shares some of the tips and tricks that he utilizes to create beautiful imagery. "It's all about balance, proportion and shape," he says. "Everything must work together. No one element should stand out. It must all blend."
