Honorees were feted at an Afternoon Tea at the St. Regis Hotel on Sunday, January 6, 2013. At the event, the honorees and their guests were the first to see Houston Woman Magazine's special edition featuring each of them.
As the President and owner of NovaLash lash extensions, Merszei is passionate about making every woman feel “instantly pretty.” Merszei is especially proud of having fought for legislation to create more training in the esthetics industry.

In addition to her commitment to NovaLash, Merszei gives back to her community and her world through charities such as Girls Inc. and the UNICEF Haiti Relief Fund for Children. She’s received the 2007 ICMAD Cosmetic Innovator of the Year Award. She was also recognized by the National Association of Professional Women with the associations VIP Women of the Year Award in 2011. Also in 2011 Sophy Merszei was voted one of Houston’s Most Beautiful Women by Health and Fitness Sports Magazine. NovaLash Eyelash Extensions have also been honored with Beauty LaunchPad’s Reader’s Choice Award for Best Eyelash Extensions in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Her NovaLash LASHliner won Beauty LaunchPad’s Reader’s Choice Award in 2009.
