In just over four years, Olivia Garden’s omgOG donation initiative has turned social media engagements into real-world impact, donating more than $8,000 to over 20 nonprofit organizations.

Olivia Garden created the donation initiative, omgOG, in 2020 as a means to give back to individuals in need. Once a month, the brand announces its chosen organization on Instagram, then tallies up likes and comments—turning each into a monetary contribution. Originally pledging $0.50 per like and $1.00 per comment, Olivia Garden has since doubled its commitment, now donating $1.00 per like and $2.00 per comment, amplifying its support for those in need.

In August 2024, Olivia Garden contributed $614.00, their highest individual donation, to First Book, a nonprofit dedicated to providing educational resources to children from low-income communities. Additional organizations the omgOG initiative has supported include the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Red Cross, NAACP, Girls Inc., One Tree Planted, NAMI, Trevor Project, Make a Wish, Feeding America, and the Ronald McDonald House, among others.

Anne Maza, co-owner of Olivia Garden, created omgOG as a meaningful way to give back in the wake of the 2020 pandemic—Maza’s good will  continues to make a lasting impact on communities nationwide.

“At Olivia Garden we are more than just a hair tool company. We’re real people working with real people everyday,” said Maza. “It is important to us to use our brand as a force for good. We understand that not everyone is able to donate actual money, so omgOG offers a way for people to support nonprofits simply by engaging with our posts.”

“omgOG was created to spread a little bit of good every week. It’s important that we give back all year round—not just once a year around a ‘big’ moment,” Maza said.  Olivia Garden will continue to work with nonprofit organizations, ensuring that all communities are supported.

The Olivia Garden team is excited to continue the omgOG initiative and continue making an impact around the nation.
