“It’s all about family. American Crew is everything.”
David Roemer
The winner of the 2013 American Crew Global Face Off was announced at an intimate press event in Los Angeles. Pedro José Muñoz from Spain created the winning cut and his final image was deemed the Face Off first. Munoz learned his craft at his father's side, preferring to spend time in his father's barbershop to hanging out with his friends.
As part of his prestigious prize package, he will be featured in the 2014 American Crew Style Selector, has been invited back stage at the 2013 Global American Crew/Style Masters show in Madrid in April and will receive press coverage around the globe.

American Crew Face Off is the global competition that challenges stylists to create their interpretation of an American Crew men’s hair style. The winners from each country’s competition (Loretta Tom, Canada; Miguel Guttierez, the United Kingdom; Katrina Saxton, New Zealand; Patrick Chai, the United States; and Dean Tsopanis, Australia) flew to Los Angeles to represent their countries and compete for the title of Global Champion. They created their final images during the photo shoot at the famous MILK Studios with an award-winning team, including photographer David Roemer, wardrobe stylist Taylor Jacobson, and American Crew creative director Craig Hanson. They stayed at the legendary Sunset Tower Hotel and enjoyed several days of exploring Southern California celebrity, fashion and beauty hot spots, including Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
“Face Off has evolved into something that’s become industry-changing,” said Hanson. “American Crew has defined what good men’s grooming means, and we’ve seen the pinnacle of that through the national and global Face Off entries. The judges deliberated—and argued—for more than four hours before making their decision. All six of our finalists created such stellar work, that it was almost impossible to select a winner.”
The judges included a team of men’s styling, fashion and editorial experts: Craig Hanson, American Crew creative director; David Roemer, photographer; Taylor Jacobson, wardrobe stylist; Sandra Nygaard, Men’s Health senior editor, fashion and grooming; and Sergi Bancells, area manager, Espana and Latin America, Estetica magazine.
The finalists, their models and their final images can be seen on the next page.
