Despite experiencing the difference professional salon products offer, most women don’t purchase their haircare products in their salon. In fact, according to industry studies, only 8 percent of salon patrons buy products exclusively at salons.

Since the average woman washes her hair five times a week, there’s a true opportunity for stylists to encourage their clients to purchase quality shampoo, and other hair care products from the salon. Looking for a way to grow the salon retail business, L’Oréal Professionnel created an in-salon damage repair treatment that is paired with at-home products for optimum results.

L’Oréal Professionnel’s Pro Fiber treatments begin in the salon, where the stylist takes their client through a personalized, interactive damage consultation using the Pro Fiber App (available for iOs and Android.) Based on her hair texture, hair care routine and the amount of heat and environmental exposure to her hair, the damage level is determined and the appropriate Pro Fiber regimen is recommended. Clients can then opt to add the five-minute Pro Fiber treatment to their service that day.

The Pro Fiber treatment requires minimal time on behalf of the stylist and is beneficial for all hair types. With little effort, it increases the possibility of retail sales dramatically. This is thanks to Pro Fiber’s line of at-home hair care products that can extend the treatment results received in salon for up to six weeks. Typically, clients purchase four products in their prescribed Pro Fiber regimen—the Pro Fiber Shampoo, Conditioner or Masque, Leave-In and Re-Charge—adding up to $120 (SRP) to each end ticket.

Additionally, the Pro Fiber Consultation App allows you to continue the in-salon relationship with your client long after she’s gone home. The app not only sends reminder emails to re-book the in-salon appointments, but also recommends the necessary at-home products to purchase exclusively at the salon to extend her results.

Your client’s at-home regimen will match the in-salon treatment for her specific level of damage:

  • Revive is suitable for slightly damaged hair and features a honey and bergamot scent.

  • Restore is appropriate for damaged hair and has a milk, clove, and sandalwood scent.

  • Recover is for very damaged hair and features a vanilla and sandalwood scent.

“My staff has changed their perception about how to treat hair damage because of the Pro Fiber results” says Errin M. Thomas, owner of Silva & Thomas in Atlanta, Georgia. “Almost every client that has received the treatment has purchased the at-home retail products to continue the revolution of healthy hair. They all comment that Pro Fiber is truly amazing!
