Bet you never heard of one of these -- a full service men's nail salon? There's one in Los Angeles though, called Hammer & Nails. According to the salon, they are the first men's nail salon to open in the nation. Check out this man cave for dudes!

Hammer & Nails the nail shop for guys caters to the specific needs of athletes and businessmen in Los Angeles, CA. Decorated with oversized leather chairs, the front-end of a classic Chevy pickup truck and a leather punching bag and gloves from the 1940’s, the salon spared no cost to create a relaxing escape for men in Los Angeles.
According to the salon, they are the first men's nail salon to open in the nation. When the salon opened in November 2013, they focused on offering the basics. Now they are expanding their treatments to include an Express MANicure/Pedicure, Sports Pedicure, Warm Oil Manicure and an Aromatherapy Pedicure.
“A large part of our clientele consists of athletes, and we’ve custom designed a new treatment specifically for guys who need to bring their A game with healthy hands and feet,” says Michael Elliot, owner and founder. “We’ve hosted NFL and NBA players in our shop, so we’re acutely aware of the hygiene needs and preferences of active men in this town.
Designed to ease sore muscles of athletic and active men, the Sports Pedicure features hot stones, Hammer & Nails Signature Scrub, foot and leg massage, reflexology, and a hydrating mint clay mask, which stimulates blood circulation. It also includes nail trimming and shaping, cuticle oil and grooming, moisturizing, hot towel wrap, and paraffin treatment.
“Unlike most women, not all men want a trip to the nail shop to be an ordeal that takes up an afternoon,” says Elliot. “After listening to requests from loyal clients who want to stop by and receive a quick treatment before a big meeting, we’ve designed the “Express MANicure/Pedicure.”
Designed for the man that routinely gets manicures and is short on time, the Express MANicure and/or Pedicure includes nail trimming and shaping, light cuticle grooming, and moisturizing treatments.
“In addition to being the first nail shop for guys, Hammer & Nails sets itself apart by promoting health and wellness,” says Elliot. “Active guys or men who work with their hands have a particularly tough time keeping their extremities healthy. The Warm Oil MANicure and Aromatherapy Pedicure allow us to nourish and relax overworked hands and feet.”
Specially designed for hands that suffer from dry, cracked cuticles, the Warm Oil MANicure is waterless. Hands are soaked in warm oil rather than water. The treatment also includes nail trimming and shaping, cuticle oil and grooming, moisturizing treatments, a hot towel wrap, hand/arm massage, therapeutic massage oil, and a buff shine.
Hammer & Nails offers men an attractive alternative to visiting female-centric nail salons. Custom-designed treatments are paired with personal flat-screen TVs and headphones, premium sports channels, and complimentary beers and scotch to create the ultimate man cave experience.
Elliot plans to open Hammer & Nails shops throughout the nation in the near future. For more information about the salon, visit hammerandnails-salon.com.
