The Professional Beauty Association’s (PBA) International Salon and Spa Expo (ISSE) in Long Beach, California will be held January 25-27, 2014 at the Long Beach Convention Center. With nearly 40,000 beauty professionals, students and instructors expected this year; ISSE Long Beach has evolved into a complete beauty event for hair, nails, cosmetics, esthetics and advanced education. The sold-out exhibition floor of more than 350 top international beauty brands will include Aveda, Clairol Professional, Conair, Moroccanoil, OPI, Wella Professional, Zotos International and many more. The event will include 150 educational classes, live stage performances from top industry artists and hairdressing, barbering and nail competitions.
ISSE Long Beach has become a popular event at which to launch new professional products, services and trends from a wide variety of manufacturers including international leaders to independent brands. The exhibition hall will also include the EstheticsAmerica & Wellness Pavilion, whichprovides exhibitors and attendees with a dedicated environment devoted to skincare, wellness and the latest in treatments and education. Many of the largest esthetics brands will be on hand to offer advanced, hands-on training and certifications, including a line-up of CIDESCO Section USA skin education.

ISSE 2014 will host the first Major League Barber's Hot Hands Barber Brawl competitions. ISSE Long Beach competitions will kick off with this Barber Brawl on Sunday, January 26. Competitors can register for categories, including Original Tag Team; Design and Color, Conservative; Basic Haircut; Fastest Barber in the World; Bald Fade; and Shear Crazy - No Machines, Just Shears. Winners will receive an array of tools and products to enhance their barbering career.
PBA's hairstyling competitions take place Monday, January 27 with categories including Ladies Trend Cut, Color & Style; Long Hair Bridal; and Fantasy-Inspired by Hollywood. All competitors use mannequins for entries and students and professionals compete separately. For 2014, all competitions will be held in the Long Beach Convention Center, close to the show floor.
Nailpro Nail Competitions: The Nailpro competitions take place Saturday, January 25, and count toward the 2014 NailPro Cup. Categories include: Soak Off Gel Manicure; French Twist - One Hand; and It's All About the Bling.
One of the most popular features at ISSE Long Beach is the stage shows featuring some of the biggest stars and hair teams in the industry. Attendees will see beauty experts such as: Faatemah Ampey, Nick Arrojo, Berry Bachen & DJ Riggs, Steve Elias, Kazamour, Martin Parsons, Sassoon Academy, Lisa Yamasaki, Maryl Velbeck and more. ISSE Long Beach features two main stages, Center Stage and the NAHA Stage featuring NAHA winners and finalists, showcasing their talents, reviewing the career impact of a NAHA win, and tips on how to create a successful NAHA entry.
