In order to help select team members for its upcoming Fashion Week presentation with The Blonds, Sexy Hair challenged its top artists with a Faux-tography competition.
The contest called artists to create their best runway-ready yet still wearable faux looks. Many clients are asking for styles that don't require a big commitment but can create a major change for a short period of time—faux bobs, faux bangs, faux mohawks, etc.
Plus, with the rise of media-sharing platforms, like Instagram, every stylist has to be their own photographer. The marriage of these two ideas was how the Faux-tography theme was created.
MODERN and Sexy Hair judged all the entries and selected 11 artists to join the Sexy Hair team at New York Fashion Week for The Blonds show. The winners were announced at Sexy Hair's Train the Trainer event in Austin, Texas, on June 10.
