Recently, at theWella Studio in Woodland Hills, CA, an audience of invited stylists and salon owners were introduced to new Night Density Rescue from Nioxin, a leave-on scalp treatment designed to protect against and neutralize oxidation, which leads to hair loss. The new treatment features NIOXYDINE24 technology, clinically proven to promote hair density by providing antioxidants to the scalp surface. The new treatment was inspired by NIOXIN’s skin care approach to hair care and the body’s nightly regeneration cycles.
According to Wella's research, 80 percent of clients are looking to retain their hair. Wella artists/educators Manny SanMartin and Oliver Shortall demonstrated cuts and styling that work well for clients concerned about thinning and who want the appearance of fuller hair. Their four models each had specific hair concerns and helped debunk the idea that Nioxin should be reserved for clients with visible scalp. Nearly everyone, Shortall commented, would like to preserve their hair and reduce hair fall. "And if they have thinning, it's important to help them embrace it, not hide it."

Recent studies have shown that free radicals in the environment can trigger scalp oxidation and ultimately, hair thinning, Free radicals are unstable molecules that in an attempt to become more stable, steal electrons from other molecules which results in oxidative damage. This process is similar to the skin damage caused by the sun. NIOXIN’s Night Density Rescue leaves no residue on the pillow and is suitable for all hair types.
