The deadline for entry of applications for the 2018 Salon Today 200 has been extended to September 15, 2017. The competition evaluates the growth and best business practices of salons and spas across North America, and honors the top entries each year.
"We launched the competition more than 20 years ago for a number of reasons," says Stacey Soble, editor in chief. "We wanted to celebrate salon and spa owners for their best business practices, create a forum where salon business ideas could be exchanged, and gather important salon data to begin developing benchmarks that all owners can use to measure their businesses."
The competition includes 11 different competition categories, including growth, compensation and benefits, retention and referral, customer service, employee education, salon culture, inventory management, philanthropy, technology, retail and merchandising and profit center. Owners can choose which categories to enter, and may enter only one or as many as all 11.
Profit Center, the newest category, will recognize salons who have successfully launched a new service or product section of their business that has added to their bottom line.
