Having volume and texture is the center for braids, updos and blowouts. With Jatai's Teasing Pin Comb, stylists can take their client's hair to the next level—literally!
The comb is designed for the versitle stylist. In addition to its ability to backcomb and detangle, the comb is thermal-resistant, has an ABS resin handle and features rust-resistant pins. It's built to last with 100% Japanese stainless steel.
Florida-based stylist Saretta Bowerman is a master of braided styles and updos and considers the Jatai Teasing Pin Comb a must-have in her styling arsenal.
"The comb is so versatile. It doesn't compact the tease as much as a regular rat tail comb, and it doubles as a detangling comb, too," Bowerman says. "My tools are so important to me, and this gets the job done for coloring and styling."
Another benefit of the comb? It's antistatic, and the coated pins won't scratch your client's scalp or break hairs.
Los Angeles artist Anthony Pazos, who has work with celebrities such as Beyoncé, Khloe Kardashian and Leighton Meester, also counts the Teasing Pin Comb as an essential tool.
"Big hair, don’t care is the perfect quote to describe this versatile comb," he says. "I am obsessed with it and enjoy using it on my clients whenever I get the chance."
Other artists have found the comb to be helpful beyond styling. Jessica Warburton says she loves to use it at the shampoo bowl.
"I only need to backcomb once or twice to get the full effect I need, and it’s so much easier to brush out before shampooing," she says. "It is also heavy duty and doesn’t break easily."
The brand says the comb has received an overwhelmingly positive response.
"Hairdressers are drawn to the comb because of its unique look," says Vanessa Wada, Jatai's VP of Marketing. "And once they test it out it’s a no-brainer for them. In fact, hairdressers were the ones who told us this comb is also great for balayage and color melting, a function we didn’t know existed about the comb. It’s so versatile and well-made. Every hairdresser should have one if they are doing updos, volumizing hairstyles or color processing."
