Tek's new Massage Brush aims to help those with hair loss to find a simple solution.
The brush’s compact size and handy cotton strap fit in the palm, making it a easier to perform scalp massages. As blood circulation improves, sebum and collagen production rise and nutrients are delivered to the hair follicles resulting in a healthier, fuller head of hair.
The base that’s been handcrafted from eco-friendly ash wood and treated with linseed oil and beeswax; it is resistant to water damage. When massaging thinning damp hair, use the Massage Brush to detangle hair first to avoid yanking on the roots and pulling out any strands.
Whether you choose to massage the scalp on wet or dry locks, when your clients have thinning hair it’s good practice delicate strokes to prevent breakage and avoid scalp irritation. Once you have detangled your client's locks, simply pull the Massage Brush’s strap over your hand, tilt your client's head over and begin by softly rubbing, kneading or tapping the brush around the nape in a circular motion. Next, straighten your client's head and massage the scalp going from the hairline to the back of his or her neck, making sure to cover the entire head. For the best results, have clients massage the their scalp for 3 to 6 minutes, two to three times a week.
For additional hair boosting benefits, add in a drop or two of essential oils to the Massage Brush scalp massage. Two that have been put to the test: cedarwood oil, which works to stimulate hair follicles by increasing circulation and rosemary oil, which enhances hair growth. To absorb more of the oils, wrap a warm, damp towel around your client's head for 10 minutes post-massage. Wash hair thoroughly after to remove excess oils.
