Some gorgeous salons come to the attention of Modern Salon Media on a daily basis. Beautiful interiors, inviting exteriors, breathtaking stations…such great attention to maximizing space and providing a positive experience for both clients and staff. We just learned about the brand new Vasken Demirjian Salon which just opened on the ground floor of the Trump Building in White Plains, New York.

Architect Katerina Soukhopalov (MSK Design Group), designed the German-inspired space with a nod to Vasken's background in the art world (he is a former antiquities dealer in London). Pure, glossy white with flashes of Valentino red, the salon's color scheme is inspired by a "clean, white sheet of paper," says Soukhopalov.

Most notable is the unique floating ceiling design of the salon showcasing a 3-dimensional art installation composed of tubular structures. According to the press release, "The intricate blanket of white cylinders is made from a high-grade paper that allows for light to diffuse through and create a soft, ambient glow perfect for hair color. In contrast, the vibrant red cylinders constructed from imported linen add a dynamic punch of color to the space." The ceiling design was conceived to both preserve the height of the space as well as create a sound-proofing buffer to minimize the usual salon noise. It is amazing.
