The Gathering 2010 opened last night with a spectacular stage presentation by many of the Paul Mitchell icons including Robert Cromeans, Angus Mitchell, Scott Cole, Linda Yodice and Stephanie Kocielski. There was a special guest appearance by Jean Braa, the original Paul Mitchell Artistic Director. Wynn Claybaugh updated us all on the growth of the Paul Mitchell Schools with a performance by students as artists and models. This was quite the party!

Almost 4000 from around the world have descended upon Las Vegas to attend "The Gathering 2010", the Paul Mitchell event held to enlighten, educate and entertain the members of the Paul Mitchell family.
The opening ceremony was quite an extravaganza. In addition to outrageously artistic hair with performances and demonstrations by style icons including Robert Cromeans, Angus Mitchell, Scott Cole, Linda Yodice and Stephanie Kocielski, there was a special guest appearance by Jean Braa, the original Paul Mitchell Artistic Director. Wynn Claybaugh updated us all on the growth of the Paul Mitchell Schools with a performance by students as artists and models.
From the hair to the fashion to the make up to the dancing to the artistry, this was truly quite spectacular.
This celebration marks two special occasions: the 30thanniversary of the founding of Paul Mitchell the company and the launch of the new Awapuhi collection.
"Awapuhi has been thirty years in the making," said John Paul DeJoira as he introduced the product. "Hawaiian natives have used the juice of the Awapuhi ginger plant to moisturize skin and hair. It leaves the hair softer, more manageable and with intense shine. Combined with our exclusive Kera Triplex blend, this product penetrates, repairs and seals damaged hair."
There are seven products in the Awapuhi "Wild Ginger" line including Moisturizing Lather Shampoo, Keratin Cream Rinse, Keratin Intensive Treatment, Texturizing Sea Spray, Styling Treatment Oil, Shine Spray and Finishing Spray. More to come on this line as I am planning on testing it out while here at The Gathering 2010!
