John Paul DeJoria, CEO and co-founder of Paul Mitchell, and Angus Mitchell, co-owner and director of education for JPMS, donated a solar-powered car to the Los Angeles-based Petersen Automotive Museum's Alternative Power exhibition (petersen.org).

DeJoria and the late Paul Mitchell built the Mana La Solar car in 1987 for the first solar-powered car race from Darwin to Adelaide, Australia. Not only did it run on solar power, but wind power as well! The car will be on display through May 2010. Visit paulmitchell.com for details on the company's global environmental inititives.

Walking for Water
Aveda's global Walk for Water campaign is the week of April 22, 2010. The series of walks acknowledge the daily struggle of more than
one billion people globally who do not have access to clean water. The six-kilometer walk reflects the average distance women in developing countries must walk daily to collect water. This global initiative hopes to raise awareness, funds and understanding of the need to protect clean water. Visit aveda.com for details.

Picture Perfect
Michael Schuh, owner of Michael's Salon and Spa, in Centerville, Ohio, used his passion for photography to benefit the American Heart Association Go Red for Women campaign. Schuh, who travels the world with his camera in hand, selected his favorite photos and had them transferred to canvas to display in his salon. All profits from the sale of the limited edition reproductions benefit the Go Red
campaign. Visit michaelssalon.com to learn more.
