Formerly The Water Room, the acquisitions bring Varnish Lane's count to seven salons pioneering the waterless manicure.

Varnish Lane, a nail care salon group that is pioneering the waterless manicure concept across the south and mid-Atlantic regions, announces the acquisition of The Water Room's 14-chair location in Charleston and 8-chair salon in Atlanta, bringing the total Varnish Lane count to seven salons. Three of the other locations are in Washington, DC, with a fourth salon opening there soon and a fifth launching this fall in Charlotte, NC.
"Growing our presence in the southeast has been a focus over the past several years," says Lauren Dunne, co-founder and CEO of Varnish Lane. "We were looking for an opportunity in our target markets. When we met The Water Room Founder Jessica Morse and learned of her approach to employee culture, commitment to clean and pure ingredients, and dedication to quality customer service, we knew we had found our perfect match."
Varnish Lane co-founder Carrie Dunne adds, "With Jessica's background in clean beauty and reputation as a national influencer, The Water Room has built a solid foundation on which we can continue to grow the Varnish Lane market ownership. The Water Room has done an incredible job of building awareness, loyalty, and demand for clean nail services. In addition to having secured some highly coveted retail locations in each respective city, The Water Room has cultivated an incredible employee base and cultre that resonated with our team at Varnish Lane.
Varnish Lane is known for its waterless, eco-friendly manicures and pedicures that use 9-free polishes along with some environmentally gentle gel polishes. Saving up to 15 gallons of water per service, the brand's signature manicure and pedicure process replaces tubs of water with hot towels and includes natural skincare products and deep massage. According to the company, the nail services last longer, as eliminating the soaking process reduces the nails' tendency to expand and retract, keeping them from chipping easily. Founded in 2015, Varnish Lane now also has two proprietary products—Nourishing Nail & Cuticle Oil and Nourishing Hand Cream.
