Taking the inspiration from the bourgeois runway looks from Bottega Veneta and Jean Paul Gaultier, hair stylist Clive, from Clive and Co. in Dallas, Texas, was inspired to create a hair cut that interpreted this updo runway trend in a way that it can be worn with shorter hair. This makes the style wearable for everybody, taking away the mystique that runway style is outlandish and unrealistic for every day wear.
How to create Philip Pelusi's Renaissance crimped updo style.
I just love this hair by Paul Hanlon for Aveda at the Preen Autumn/Winter 2012 show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week! The look is windblown with mixed textures. "The look we've created is a haphazard, sport knot with an aerodynamic feel," says Hanlon.
The Jenny Packham Fall 2012 collection pays homage to the alluring film noir starlets of the 1940s. Lead Hair Stylist Leonardo Manetti recreated the “victory roll” style of the period, named for the V-shape of the style created when smooth hair is rolled around a foam piece (known as a “hair rat”) to provide structure and volume.
The hair look at the Autumn/Winter ’12 Peter Som show in New York represented a new direction for a new season with contrast playing a key role. According to Wella Professionals' Eugene Souleiman, who designed the hair for this collection, he wanted to create a graphic look that worked with the collection but at the same time was not too harsh. See the steps for yourself!

The Curls Unleashed creative team was full of energy up on stage: Reginald Mitchell, director of education; Zac Britt, senior educator; Willie Malone, senior educator; got the crowd dancing and cheering on as texture took over the runway.
Minardi Luxury Color Care and Joico put together a fantastic creative team of Mark Mileti, color director; Stephen Wang, design director; John James Lichioveri, senior designer, and Sony Hy, design assistant, in an exciting runway presentation that featured tousled texture, combined with beautiful cuts and striking fashion.
Arrojo brought together its creative team that truly wow’d with its take on texture: Amanda Jenkins, lead stylist and creative director; Zeph O’Hora, stylist; Liz Marz, make-up; Ashley Kowalski, color and fashion styling; and Abbey Theis, permanent texture specialist.
Hair care sponsor Matrix brought together the dynamic duo of Nick Stenson and Daniel Roldan to create five finishes, each model sporting a different take on Texture, all with an underlying neo-Victorian theme.
L’Oréal Professionnel Master Session Artist, Laura Polko, created the hair styles for the Houghton Fall 2012 presentation at New York Fashion on Thursday, February 9.
