Sara Ortega, owner and stylist at HairSpray Studio in San Diego, California, continuously blows us away with her bridal hair finishes and special-occasion styling. Her Instagram page, @hairspray_studio, is so stunning and inspiring that we just recently named her a part of our Artist Connective—a program that recognizes top stylists and helps connect them to the industry on a larger scale.

We first discovered Ortega when she entered our Slay Belles contest. Her updo work was so stunning and so on-trend that she made it through the thousands of entries and into the semifinals. Then she entered the second round and the judges loved her work so much it put her into the top 5! (Hint: If you ever see a contest going on, ENTER IT! You never know where the recognition can lead, even if you don't win first place.)
