The freehand haircoloring technique that only hairdressers could pronounce just a few years ago, balayage comes from the French word "balayer," meaning to sweep. When hair is painted using balayage, it opens-up countless creative options for colorists.  And that’s something to celebrate!

Prepare to break out your balayage brush, paddle, or tool of choice and get ready to bring your best balayage to National Balayage Week with Matrix, kicking off on August 17. 

As part of the celebration, MATRIX will host free virtual classes for hairstylists across the country, providing tips and tricks for the best color results and tips for maintaining the look at-home using the MATRIX Total Results Collection.  Starting on Monday, August 17, prepare to learn with inspiring balayage artists including Eric Vaughn, Lenny Strand, Michelle O’Connor, and Danielle Keasling who will help teach you how to paint without restraint and to up your balayage game.
