After receiving countless entries since the launch of our holiday contest Party Pretty, it was extremely difficult to narrow the pool of glamorous waves, glossy finishes and blinged out chignons down to 10. This group of 10 semifinalists not only earn major bragging rights, but they also receive incredible prizes, including a gift box packed with goodies (we’re not kidding, it’s PACKED) from some of our favorites—Manic Panic Professional, Evo, Pureology, Goldwell, Moroccanoil, Ouidad and Alterna. These pro beauty brands pulled out all the stops to gift this group with the goodies to help up their styling business and create polished, picture-perfect finishes.

But the semifinalists aren’t off the hook just yet—MODERN is challenging them to create ultra-glam holiday-party-prepped hair by 11:59 p.m. CST on October 4. Their creations will be judged by MODERN editors and our panel of judges from our Artist Connective, who also happen to be some of the best special-occasion stylists in the game: Sydney Lopez (@sydneyannlopezhair), Alison Valsamis (@braidedandblonde), Natalie Thomas (@bridal_bynatalie), Melanie Sorrow (@melaniesorrowhair), and Shelby Weatherholtz (@shelbyweatherholtzhair). Five will move on to the next round to participate in a challenge, sponsored by HairUWear Pro.
