Iconic British brand ghd partnered with Victoria’s Secret for the second year as the official hair tool sponsor for its annual fashion show last night in London.
Big, sexy and head-turning hairstyles were, as always, the hallmark of the Victoria’s Secret Angel and ghd Brand Ambassador David Babaii shared with us his tips on how to recreate the look with the same tools used at this year’s show.
“For that sexy Victoria's Secret style, you need a light to medium density to your hair,” says Babaii. “With finer hair you can always add extensions to give the illusion of fullness. The texture should be wavy to straight, as with the right tools you can achieve anything.”
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show hair team used ghd stylers, hairdryers and the newly-launched ghd curve curling range to create the iconic styles on the Victoria’s Secret Angels.
GET THE LOOK from David Babaii:
1. Divide your hair into 4 parts: top, sides and back, leaving the nape area free. Starting at the nape area and taking small sections at a time, comb the hair before starting. Spray each section with a light working hair spray.
2. Depending on the size of the wave or curl you desire, wrap the section around 1-3 fingers creating a large pin-curl type curl. Take the open flat iron, carefully place the curl inside, clamp down and hold for 10 seconds. Repeat if the curl is large so you have covered the entire diameter of the curl. Clip the curl and proceed to the next curl. You can also use various sized curling irons as well to get a more natural look.
3. After completing the entire head remove the clips and allow the curls to relax and fall naturally into place. Use your fingers to arrange, separate and style your hair. If you wish, spray with a light hold styling spray.
