Alisha Jared (@alishajaredhairartistry) from Siren Salon in Vancouver, WA was thrilled her client found her on Facebook. "She drove from a different county to see me. She explained that she had had a few previous attempts at balayage, but that her hair pulled very warm and was always pumpkin orange and brassy. She prefers an ash tone, but was under the impression this was probably something unachievable for her."
Jared proves that it IS achievable and shares the how to:
Formula A: (1:2 ratio) Joico Chrome N6 = Joico Chrome A7 + Joico Chrome Activator
Formula B: (1 scoop to 1 oz) Sunlights Balayage Lightener + 20 Vol Veroxide
Formula C: (1:2 ratio) Joico Chrome N8 = A7 + Joico Chrome Activator
Formula D: (1:2 ratio) Joico Chrome N9 = A9 + Joico Chrome Activator
STEP 1: Section hair into 4 sections. Apply Formula A to root area and pull down to desired depth. Continue through all 4 quadrants. Comb through with wide tooth comb.
STEP 2: Starting in front, take 1" subsections and micro-stitche. Apply Formula A to "baby lighted" section and isolate with Embee Meche. Balayage remaining hair in that section with Formula B. Continue through all 4 quadrants pulling baby lighted sections down at different depths.
STEP 3: Process at room temperature for 25 minutes. Rinse and towel dry.
STEP 4: Apply Formula C to zone 1 where the lightener overlapped the base color to neutralize any warmth.
STEP 5: Apply Formula D from midshaft through the ends and "melt" or blend together where the two glazes meet. Process until desired tone is reached.
Style with Davines MOMO potion, Sam Villa Blowdryer, NuMe 32mm wand, Kenra Dry Texture Spray and Davines This is a Medium Hold Hairspray.
"I always aim to under promise and over deliver for my clients," says Jared. "She was ecstatic and couldn't stop saying how happy she is to love her hair again!!"
