When Janette the client came into Butterfly Loft Salon (@butterflyloftsalon) colorist Leslie Austin (@hairbyleslieaustin) knew she was in need of a color correction.
Austin transformed her client’s brassy streaks into a beautiful, sunkissed brunette with balanced highlights and lowlights.
THE PROCESS:
STEP 1: Starting at the front of the head, Austin finely weaved the hair, using foils, she alternated highlights and lowlights. For the highlights, she used equal parts Loreal Platinium Plus and 30 volume developer, and for the lowlights she used equal parts Wella Illumina 5/ and 10 volume developer. In between foils, she use painted on some of the highlights to break up the different colors.
STEP 2: Austin let the hair process for 30 minutes before shampooing.
STEP 3: Austin toned her client's hair all over using 10 grams of Redken Shades 6T, 10 grams of 6GB and 20 grams of 8N.
STEP 4: Hair was processed for 15 minutes before shampooing, conditioning, and styling.
