MODERN invited Aloxxi Creative Advisor Candace Bossendorfer to create a color that screams holiday: red.
“Color designs are all evolving. Shading goes from light to dark or dark to light,” says Bossendorfer. “But to keep it fresh and soft, blend with tones.”
Bossendorfer says colorists are now looking for the next generation of ombre. “That trend is over,” she says. “While ombre is still practical and artistic—and still requested by clients—we have to address it differently. Now color is more fused. It’s best to keep the levels with just a one level shift. There are no longer any lines of demarcation.”
For this MODERN SALON how-to, Bossendorfer demonstrates how to create the new “fused color.” She adds, “This is a quick, easy way to get dimension without the fuss.”
