FORMULA: Kind of Lovin' This Blue Ombre

Quyen Nguyen (@HQSALONDENVER), an ombre and color correction specialist, decided to have fun with this color. "This is what we usually do most when someone wants a balayage ombre," says the owner of HQ Salon, Denver, Colorado. "Each client that sits in my chair has a chance for improvement, and my consultation with each, from the beginning, is always very important. We must be on the same page. It's quality not quantity."





For this blue tipped finish, Nguyen offers the HOW TO:

Step 1: Section the hair in to 4 sections forming a mohawk from ear to ear.

Step 2: Starting from the bottom, take 1/2 inch sections and apply Paul Mitchell 1A with 10 vol color onto the roots, teased from ends up. Apply the color to the teased area (not the ends).

Step 3: Apply Joico lightener with 10vol onto the ends.

Step 4: Process for 30 minutes and then rinse and dry the hair.

Step 5: Apply Sparks equal parts Electric blue and Green Ivy with Clear and process for 20 minutes.
