STMNT Grooming Expands into Shave Care
STMNT Grooming Goods is expanding into the shave care category with three new additions to its lineup.
Learn how to create a beautiful, clean, Martin-Parsons inspired-updo for your summer brides, bridesmaids and prom-goers!

MODERN Facebook fan Megan Lelonek, of Five Star Salon and Spa in Davenport, Iowa, created this beautiful bridal updo for a trial run on a client. We saw the results and couldn't resist asking her for the how to. AND, MODERN's Facebook fans love it too—with nearly 1,500 "likes" and hundreds of "shares" we knew this was one look that needs to be recreated. And, with wedding season and prom right around the corner, what better time to brush up on your updo skills!

Step 1: This bride-to-be has shoulder-length hair with varying lengths of layers. Begin by using Oribe Soft Lacquer for shine, hold and heat protection, and set the hair using a medium-sized curling iron.
Step 2: After each curl, pin using single-prong clips. Once the head is set, wait for it to cool.
Step 3: Remove the single-pring clips as you work your way up the head. Beginning in the nape, and working up, backcomb small to medium sections of hair at the base to create volume and a foundation. Using the Martin Parsons pinning technique, take a bobby pin and place it on the strand of the curl. Bend the strand in toward the head and pin it into the backbombing, creating a loop. You can vary the size of the loop by alternating the placement of the bobby pin on the strand.
Step 4: Work up the head, in horizontal subsections, to create the updo. Take the ends of the lengths and loop them into previously created loops. Make sure to check your work as you move up the head, to ensure a balanced, clean finish. Swoop the front sections to the sides to pin, neatly twist into the back sections, pinning and hiding the ends of the hair into the base of the loops. Finish with Oribe's Superfine Hair Spray.
BONUS: Oribe's Superfine hairspray now is available in a mini, purse-sized bottle— make sure to suggest it to your bride-to-be so she can stick it in her clutch to guarantee holding power as she dances the night away!
