HOW TO: An On-Trend Platinum with Paul Mitchell

Surena King at Art of Hair (The Salon) (@artofhairthesalon) in Savage, MD took her client from blonde to a very on-trend platinum. A natural level 3, her coarse, wavy hair was highlighted from mid shaft to ends. King's client brought in a photo of her desired result.

“I color balanced two shades lighter to make my job easy,” said King.

She used Paul Mitchell products and shares her formula with us here.

STEP ONE: Color balance regrowth with Paul Mitchell Dual Purpose lightener, shampoo one, and 10 volume cream developer on damp hair until canvas reached up 3 levels. “Now I had a lighter canvas to work with.”

STEP TWO: On dry hair, Paul Mitchell Syncro Lift with 20 vol.

STEP THREE: Once pale yellow was reached, King toned with Paul Mitchell The Color 9p, Uta, 10a with 5 volume cream developer.

STEP FOUR: Conditioned with Awapuhi Keratriplex treatment.

STEP FIVE: Styled using products from Paul Mitchell Super Skinny category and Paul Mitchell Pro tools.
