Celebrity stylist David Babaii created the elegant chignon worn by Christina Aguilera earlier this week for her performance during the American Music Awards. The sleek, center parted silhouette was one of the most beautiful of the night. Here he offers the steps:

STEP 1: Start with damp hair. Create a sleek center part and blow the hair out straight.

STEP 2: Take a significant amount of hair at the nape of the neck and braid tightly, directing it up and over the head.

STEP 3: Secure the braid with bobby pins at the nape.

STEP 4: Take the rest of the hair and put it in a low bun over the ends of the braid. Secure. Spritz with a strong spray to keep in place.

Babaii recommends that clients looking for healthier hair take Viviscal Professional "because it makes a big difference and helps achieve luscious, thick, beautiful hair.”
