STMNT Grooming Expands into Shave Care
STMNT Grooming Goods is expanding into the shave care category with three new additions to its lineup.
Now there’s good news for Bain de Terre® loyalists, as well as those new to the brand. The well-loved formulas have been upgraded, with more than double the original, signature argan and monoi oil blend.* Add in the products’ lush lather and luxurious fragrances—think jasmine, passionflower and coconut papaya, just to name a few—and you can see the possibilities that emerge for your shampoo services.

Are your shampoos next level? Do they evoke “oohs” and “aahs” from your clients as they luxuriate in the cleansing and conditioning experience? Do your clients rave about their time at the shampoo bowl when they talk to their friends?
If you’re just performing a robotic slop, slap and go at the shampoo bowl, here’s a cost-effective collection of cleansing and care products, with botanical extracts and fragrances, that will help you turn ordinary shampoo time into a heady delight!
BAIN DE TERRE® IS NEW AND IMPROVED
Created by Zotos Professional in 1985, Bain de Terre® isn’t a new line. When it launched it was a pioneer in the category of botanicals, and to this day it remains a favorite for stylists and clients who love naturally inspired professional products. And now there’s good news for Bain de Terre® loyalists, as well as those new to the brand. The well-loved formulas have been upgraded, with more than double the original, signature argan and monoi oil blend.* Add in the products’ lush lather and luxurious fragrances—think jasmine, passion flower and coconut papaya, just to name a few—and you can see the possibilities that emerge for your shampoo services.

PAMPERING THE SENSES
According to Jovita Osorio, Director of Education for Bain de Terre® and Zotos Professional, now more than ever it’s beneficial to engage clients in a sensory experience at the shampoo bowl, incorporating fragrance and touch. “Times are hectic,” she says. “Not everyone has time to take for themselves, so clients look forward to that expert scalp massage provided by their stylist. Not only does it help prepare the client for the salon service, but it also allows them to leave their daily grind behind and leave the salon feeling pampered. Bain de Terre’s luxurious professional haircare has the added bonus of richly-fragrant shampoos and conditioners that really help to elevate the backbar experience for the client.”
In addition to using fragrant Bain de Terre® products and offering a stress-melting scalp massage, Osorio offers these tips for elevating your client’s time at the shampoo bowl:
“Place a small, lightweight towel or weighted eye pad over the eyes,” she suggests. “Just be conscious of the eyelashes. By removing light, the other senses will become stronger.”
Check the temperature of the water on the inside of your arm, not just with your hand. Be sure to ask the client what temperature they prefer—some people adore cool water, others prefer warm.
Have some swimmer’s ear wax handy and ask your client if she would like some wax to prevent water from running into her ears.
Try a five-minute Silent Massage. No talking! Work in small circular motions, massaging the temples, top and back of the head and don’t forget to include the ears.
After applying a Bain de Terre conditioner, use a detangling brush to distribute the product evenly. Move the brush slowly and gently over the entire head, taking care to avoid pulling the hair.

INDULGING THE HAIR
While a delightful shampoo experience is the goal, it’s also important for your shampoos and conditioners to actually be effective on your clients’ hair. Bain de Terre® offers seven haircare duos, each with a unique fragrance and botanicals, for specific hair types:
Color Preserving with Passion Flower
Ultra Hydrating with Coconut Papaya
Moisturizing with Jasmine
Balancing with Green Meadow
Color Protect & Strengthening with Keratin Phyto-Protein
Long & Healthy with Sweet Almond Oil
Blonde Toning with Lavender
“It’s likely the first thing clients will notice is the beautiful new, clean, modern, and elegant packaging of the products,” says Osorio. “The second thing they will notice is that our wonderful fragrances remain the same, but our signature formulas have now been infused with more than twice our precious, beautifying argan and monoi oil blend.”

SHAMPOOS WITH BENEFITS
You might think that offering this level of luxury in the shampoo area is expensive but that is not the case. “There are only a few professional lines that still offer gallon-sized shampoos and conditioners and even fewer that offer these products at affordable prices,” says Osorio. “With Bain de Terre®, stylists can feel confident in providing their clients with luxurious and professional products without a big hit to their bottom line.”
There’s also a bonus aspect for stylists. “Not only do Bain de Terre® formulas help to beautify hair,” Osorio notes, “but they are also kind to stylists’ hands when used as directed. We know that hairdressers’ hands can get dry and cracked from being in the water all day. Bain de Terre® is clinically tested to leave hands feeling soft, smooth and nourished.”
And when it comes to the retail aspect of your business, it’s no surprise that the delightful fragrances of Bain de Terre® are generating loads of interest at salon checkout. “The experience starts at the back bar, captivating clients with lavish lathers, botanical fragrances and beautiful finished results,” says Osorio. “It is very easy to add the retail to the ticket because every client wants to take home and replicate that experience and those relaxing moments every day.”
